Product scope check
We confirm which of your products fall under the GPSR and whether specific EU rules, such as those for toys, electrical equipment or cosmetics, apply as well.
You get the EU Responsible Person and the work around it, so your products, parcels and listings show what EU rules ask for.

A vetted partner established in the EU takes on the Responsible Person role under a written mandate. Their name and address go on your parcels and listings.
We check the technical file for each product family and give you a template and a list of what's missing: description, materials, risks and how you address them, warnings and instructions. If you'd like us to write the files for you, we quote that separately.
We check the manufacturer and Responsible Person details, product identifiers and safety information on your products, packaging or parcel inserts.
We prepare the details for your own shop and for the compliance fields on Amazon, Etsy and eBay, and check that they match your labels and records.
If a market surveillance authority or a marketplace asks questions, we coordinate the reply with you and the Responsible Person. We remind you before your renewal.
The GPSR requires an economic operator established in the EU for the consumer products you sell there (Article 16). Legatia arranges this role through a vetted partner established in the EU that specialises in it.
Send your product types, where you sell and roughly how many products you have. Links or photos help, and a short list is enough to start.
We reply within one business day with what you need and a fixed annual fee. The quote names the Responsible Person partner.
After a short identity and sanctions check, we review your documents, labels and listings and tell you exactly what to add or change. You sign the mandate with the partner.
You add the Responsible Person details to your parcels and listings and start selling. We stay your contact for questions, authority requests and renewals.
Many small sellers stopped selling to the EU because Responsible Person fees were charged for each product type. Our fees are per product family, with unlimited products in each family, and the set-up work is included.
1 product family with unlimited products. For example, one product line in several colours and sizes.
Up to 5 product families with unlimited products in each. For a small brand with a varied range.
Up to 20 product families with unlimited products in each. For wider ranges sold in more than one place.
You pay only after our EU partner has confirmed it can accept your products. If it can't, you pay nothing.
Each extra shop or marketplace costs €95 once. Larger ranges and higher-risk products are quoted separately.
Extra authority work or a recall is charged at the partner's rate, and only with your written approval.
Available on request: writing your technical files, translating warnings and instructions, rush set-up and help with blocked listings. We quote these in writing before any work starts.

If your Responsible Person details are missing or out of date, marketplaces can hide or block your EU listings. eBay, for example, says such listings may not be visible or purchasable to EU buyers. For many sellers, one month without EU sales costs more than the yearly difference between two fees.
Your Responsible Person's name and address are on your products, parcels and listings. If a provider stops or turns down your products, you relabel your stock and update every listing.
Some providers charge separately for document reviews, authority requests or recalls. We agree the full scope in writing before you pay, and extra work only happens with your approval.
From 9 December 2026, the authorised representative can be held liable for defective products alongside the importer. Providers will look harder at documents, and some may change their terms. We get your documents in order so your set-up holds.
With a review-only service, you write the label text, fill in each marketplace's fields and answer questions yourself. We do that work with you and stay your contact.
New EU rules Applies to products placed on the EU market after 9 December 2026
The EU's new Product Liability Directive (EU) 2024/2853 replaces rules from 1985. Three things change for sellers based outside the EU:
Well-prepared documents make set-up with a Responsible Person faster and easier. We help you get them in order.

Why a GB address is not enough, including for Northern Ireland.
Read the guide →The fields Etsy asks for and what they mean for handmade products.
Read the guide →What every online offer must show under Article 19.
Read the checklist →If you are based outside the EU and sell consumer products covered by the GPSR to EU customers, yes. A product can only be placed on the EU market if an economic operator established in the EU is responsible for it (Article 16(1)). For most sellers who ship directly from outside the EU, that is an authorised representative appointed by written mandate.
No. The role is performed by a vetted partner established in the EU, and you sign the mandate directly with them. Legatia arranges it as part of the package and stays your point of contact. You see the partner's name in your quote before you commit.
The Responsible Person's name, postal address and email address must be on the product or on its packaging, the parcel or an accompanying document (Article 16(3)), so a parcel label or printed insert can be enough. Online listings must also show your details as the manufacturer, the Responsible Person's details, information that identifies the product including a picture, and any warnings or safety information (Article 19).
We focus on lower-risk consumer products from small brands, for example homeware, pet accessories, clothing, stationery and gifts. Products covered by specific EU laws, such as toys, electrical equipment, cosmetics or medical devices, need extra checks or a different setup, and some categories may be excluded. We confirm this in your quote.
From €450 a year. Single is €450 for 1 product family, Shop is €790 for up to 5 and Catalogue is €1,290 for up to 20, with unlimited products in each family and set-up included. Larger ranges and higher-risk products are quoted separately. You pay only after our EU partner has confirmed it can accept your products.
Products made from the same materials, for the same purpose and covered by the same safety documents. For example, fabric dog collars in 12 colours and 3 sizes are one family, leather collars are a second and dog beds are a third. We confirm your product families in your quote.
New products in an existing family are included. If you add a new family during the year, you move to the next package and pay the difference for the rest of the year.
The package runs for 12 months. We remind you 30 days before it ends and confirm the renewal price in writing. Fees aren't refunded once the mandate is signed, because the partner's fee has been paid by then.
Yes. We prepare the details each platform asks for in its compliance fields and check that they match your labels and records. Decisions about listings remain with the platform.
Yes. We check your current setup and plan the change so that your labels, inserts and listings are updated together.
No. As the manufacturer, you remain responsible for the safety of your products. The Responsible Person has its own duties, and we help you meet yours, but no service removes the manufacturer's obligations.
Businesses outside the EU, for example in the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan or South Korea. We can't work with businesses in Russia or anyone subject to EU sanctions, and every client goes through a short identity and sanctions check.
It depends mostly on how complete your documents are. Your quote includes a realistic timeline.
